Impression Process
Sept. 3 -Sept. 29, 2008
Opening reception Friday, Sept. 5, 2008.
Printmaking is the process of making artworks by printing, normally on paper. Each piece is not a copy but an original since it is not a reproduction of another work of art and is technically known as an impression. Even in the current digital and technology-obsessed age printmaking is still alive and well and possibly even more popular as people slightly resist the lure of digital perfection. For September ellO will be highlighting a selection of printmaking artists, from the local area and beyond. From woodcuts to screenprinting we will be exploring the various facets of impressions. This exhibition lovingly sponsored by the folks at Scion.

Monsters
Oct. 1 -Nov. 3, 2008
Opening reception Friday, Oct. 3, 2008.
What is a monster? During the magical month of October ellO will be figuring this out with a group show exploring everything from classical film-style horror monsters to the darker sides of nature and/or humanity (everyone generally can name a human they think is a monster). Monster trucks? Sea Monsters? Adolf Hitler or Paris Hilton? The choice is up to the artists but the interpretation is up to all.
